If you would like an opportunity to participate in a community project that will enhance year-round island life for people of all ages, then Nantucket Ice is the organization for you! Following are a variety of ways that you can help us build and endow our own community ice skating rink. Administrative: Dauna Coffin, Executive Director
We need office management assistance with administrative tasks such as data base entry and maintenance, periodic bulk mailings, and other office-related jobs.
Communications Committee: Maia Gaillard Chair
This committee keeps our Nantucket Ice name out there by promoting the project and, all of our events and other related information. Were looking for people with experience or skills in journalism, producing a quartlery newsletter, writing, graphic design, photography, marketing, public or community relations, and big-picture thinking.
Special Events Committee: Gussie Beaugrand, Chair
It would be most helpful to have people who can commit to an event or a specific period of time and with experience in coordinating or organizing a function or special event, paying attention to detail and follow up, working in a group setting, but also independently, demonstrating initiative and self-reliance.
On-Call Ice Corps
Ideal for volunteers who want to help out on an as-needed, on-call basis
for one-time jobs. Also needed: an Ice Corps Coordinator or two
to organize the volunteer corps, make telephone calls and be a liaison with
the various committees. Excellent opportunity to volunteer from home.
